Great Scottish Run 2025 Charity Half Marathon

· 320 words · 2 minute read

Last year I ran my first half marathon, and I am pleased to say that I completed it in a time of 2 hours and 7 minutes. This year I am running again, and I am hoping to improve my time and raise more money for charity.

This October I will be running the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow for the second time and I am hoping to raise money for [Cancer Research UK][charity] in the process. The run is about 21km / 13 miles across the city of Glasgow, and I am hoping to complete it in around 2 hours (less if I can manage it).

This is another big challenge for me, and I am looking forward to it. I will be training hard over the next few months to ensure that I am ready for the big day.

Update: The Run 🔗

Update: I completed the run on Sunday 5th October 2025 in a time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. It was a tough run, but I am pleased with my time and I am glad that I was able to raise money for charity in the process.

The Donation goal has been met, and I have raised a total of £500 for Cancer Research UK!

I also donated to Cancer Research UK and Bowel Research UK myself and got my employer to match my donation.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far, and I will be sure to share more details about the run and my fundraising efforts in the coming weeks.
